“Your apartment in Montparnasse was perfect. Amazing location.”
Andrew, October 2015
“On a adoré l'appart ! Charmant, paisible, bien situé, près de tout (marché, restos etc.)”
Johanne, Septembre 2014
“Thanks Chris for another opportunity to stay at 19 Passage d'Enfer. One of our favorite "finds" in Paris is the Velib' bike share program. There is a station two minutes away. We rented bikes each day.”
Simonne, October 2013
“I highly recommend Parnasse 138. We ate there twice. Also a great hair salon called David Brown two blocks up on Blvd. Raspail. I will of course highly recommend 19 Passage D'Enfer to friends and family.”
Nancy, June 2013
“The apt was great! Right by the Métro and convenient to getting around to Luxembourg and St. Michel. We discovered a fabulous restaurant called Le Timbre (easy walk from your place, near Vavin Metro). I have mentioned the apt to several friends.”

“My third visit to Paris, and my most memorable – because of Chris & Donnette's apartment! It is clean, modern, efficient, yet one is enveloped by the charm, culture and history that is unique to Paris. Chris & Donnette made a friend for life as I will only stay in “our” apartment when revisiting this magical city. I attended one of Jim Haynes' “Sunday Dinners”: easy walking distance from the apartment. I made new friends and met people from all over the world.”
Maureen, July 2011
“Sublime, a thrill to be apartment dwellers rather than hotel tourists. We really loved the neighborhood and your guide is in tatters, having gone with us everywhere. We'll be happy to serve as references for the apartment. Great place, fabulous location!”
Karen, April 2011
“Much more character than a hotel room, with enough space to lounge, sip some wine with cheese, and plan the next day's activities.”
Tim, September 2011
“The flat is perfect and the location is a haven. I did some writing for one of the conferences I attended that week. I love the neighborhood.”
Dominic, November 2011
“One of the things we enjoyed was the outdoor market on Boulevard Edgar Quinet. We went there on Saturday and purchased a chicken, fresh vegetable etc. Cost effective, high quality and the ultimate French cultural experience.”
Paul, September 2011
“I can't tell you how much I appreciate you letting Karen and I use your lovely home in Paris back in April. I fell in love with the apartment, neighborhood and city. I really soaked in the city (instead of running by things too quickly).”
Sandy, April 2015
“It was wonderful to come back to a place already so familiar and full of good memories. And being so familiar with the apartment and the neighborhood made us feel so much more a part of this magnificent city. Thanks again for contributing to our ever increasing love of Paris.”
Susan and Marilyn, July 2015
“We had another perfect time in Passage d'Enfer. We found ourselves returning to many of our favorite haunts, especially La Cerisaie, the public markets of Edgar Quinet, La Medina in Rue Daguerre and the Montparnasse cemetery. We also visited the Cartier Foundation. For true R&R respites, we took in two movies at the theatres near rue d'Odessa.”
Reg, April 2014
“We greatly enjoyed your apartment and thank you for letting us stay there. We do hope you will let us return. Mian Fan on Montparnasse is good for one meal. La Moule en Folie has always been a favorite and La Cabane a Huitres because we met the owner years ago when he was featured on NPR.”
Ken, September 2013
“Semaine de rêve... quel plaisir de revenir chaque soir à notre petit appartement: confort, charme, bonne localisation. Devant Gare Montparnasse, Le Kiosque Théâtre vend les billets moitié-prix. Les restaurants de Montparnasse étaient tous bons, un en particulier: Parnasse 138.”
Philippe, May 2012
“A gem. So nice and quiet, convenient to the RER and Métro. We had a very nice Italian meal at Il Forno di Napoli. Also loved the little neighborhood off Edgar Quinet: lots of restaurants and bars. We recommend La Cerisaie, a nice Sud Ouest restaurant that serves foie gras (yum!) and cassoulet.”
Emily, May 2012
“We so love your apartment, we can't decide whether to rave about it to our friends or keep it to ourselves! We discovered an open-air market open every day in Rue Daguerre.”
Susan, September 2012
“A lovely apartment, close to everything, but in an area where people actually live! We needed a break and the quiet apartment worked out well. Bill is into cemeteries so he was in heaven. We enjoyed our dinner at Au Bretzel. Then Saturday we tried Le Bistrot; liked it so much we went back. And BeYoga was a great balance to our many miles of walking in Paris.”
Paulett, November 2011
“The apartment was the perfect size for the two of us and has everything. It was really clean. We discovered a great little restaurant around the corner, called La Mère Agitée... Only two meal options and two types of wine (those being "rouge ou blanc") and the price is essentially up to the owner. Perhaps the most authentic we had in Paris! I should tell you that our apartment in Rome was nothing compared to your place in Paris; I hope very much that we can go back in a year or two and stay there once again!”
